Rotary International President Elect Ron Burton Challenges District 5790

During a recent District 5790 Leadership Training meeting RI President Elect  Ron Burton challenged all of us to do more to support the Rotary Foundation. "There is no question the Rotary Foundation does great work with the funds we Rotarians & others have given. We can do even more says Ron Burton. Presently, only 28% of the Rotarian membership is donating to the foundation. Why? According to Ron Burton we simply don't ask.

Thank You for Your Support!

We far exceeded our goals for this affair. Thank you! Thank you! Thank You!

RI President Elect Ron Burton

The 268 Rotarian's that were able to obtain tickets for last Saturday's Foundation Banquet had a wonderful time. We had the opportunity to hear an inspiring talk by Ron Burton, Rotary International President Elect. This Norman Oklahoma native "talked Texan" as he shared his vision for Rotary and the Foundation and challenged all of us to "get our ask in gear" and ask Rotarian's to participate in the foundation. He invites all to "Engage Rotary, Change Lives"

District 5790 Conference Sponsorship Opportunities

We are providing an incentive for Clubs, Rotarians and Businesses to sponsor this year’s District Conference. For every dollar of sponsorship given we will provide two (2) PHF Points to the Rotary account of the sponsor, if they are a Rotarian, or to the PHF account of a designated Rotarian or Non-Rotarian as decided by the Sponsor

This is a great way 2012-2013 Presidents to increase your Club’s PHF during your Presidency. Take a look at your Club’s contributions and see who is 500 points or dollars from receiving the next level PHF.  Have them sponsor the District Conference for $250 and that will get them to their next level. This is also an excellent way to get your Club to be a 100% PHF Club.

 Lets Celebrate Your Achievements

District Governor Hollis Lackey wants us all to "Celebrate Success!!" at our Annual District Conference

Come help District Governor Hollis Lackey cheer us on at District Conference

Our Annual District Conference  is Scheduled for May 17 & 18 this year. Bill Harnagel and his committee are planning a wonderful time of Celebration of the 2012-2013 Rotary Year under the leadership of District Governor Hollis Lackey and all the District 5790 Assistant Governors and Club Presidents.

As the conference planning committee does their preparations for this event, club presidents need to complete their preparations for this event.  It is not to early for the club presidents and club committee chairs to start completing their clubs awards and citations documents. Club leadership can down load the awards criteria at by down loading the 2012-2013 District 5790 Club Awards from download section of this home page (lower left hand side of page)   All entries for awards must be received by March 31, 2013.  All district 5790 clubs should be completing these forms and e-mailing to District 5790 Awards Committee Chair Karen Hewitt at [email protected].

Last year, PFG Sharron Miles announced that 16 of our 64 District 5790 Clubs received the Rotary International Presidents Citation.  This was a proud achievement for those clubs - see Presidents Citation Story. This year, because of what each club has accomplished, we know there are many more Presidents Citation eligible clubs. All club presidents need to do is complete this Presidential Citation form and send to District Governor Hollis Lackey [email protected] no later than March 31, 2013.

We are proud of accomplishments this year. Lets make arrangements for all club members to help us claim our victories and celebrate at the Celebrate Success District Conference on May 17 & 18, 2013.

Rotary District 5790 held it's 1st Annual Peace Symposium Saturday, December 1st at the Tarrant County Community College - Trinity River Campus.

Throughout the world and right here in our own neighborhoods Rotarians provide a variety of humanitarian services. These acts of kindness actually impact world peace. Rotarians throughout our district heard stimulating discussions connecting efforts to address critical issues of the day to the goal of building sustainable peace.

Several organizations provide humanitarian assistance locally and throughout the world who will had displays of their projects. Clubs throughout our district used the opportunity to  consider how they can partner with these organizations.
