Dear 2015-2016 Rotary Club Presidents,Congratulations! You are starting one of your most exciting journeys, that of being President of your Rotary Club. This will be, by far, the most rewarding year in your Rotary history.
In today’s world of networking you may be surprised to learn that Rotary is one of the oldest networking organizations in the world, dating back to 1905. Individuals came together for fellowship, service projects and business networking and, in doing so, they banded together to change lives and improve the world and their own communities in so many ways.
It is often said that all the good Rotary does happens in the individual clubs and it does. We are a bottom up organization that benefits from developing a broad commonality of direction from the top. While attending Far West PETS for 2 and a half days, you will gain from both perspectives. We bring you those who are in the top echelons of Rotary and, at the same time, you will network with Rotarians whose rise to leadership may span from months to decades. Your classes will blend Presidents-Elect from clubs as small as 7 members to as large as 500 members resulting in a lot of different operational points of view. You will make friends that you can call on when you need help.
Your classes will sometimes keep you grouped together with your Assistant Governor and the Presidents-Elect from clubs in the Far West PETS area. Each class will also blend your local group with outside groups from geographies across multiple Rotary Districts from Hawaii, California, and Nevada. You will hear from some of the top motivational speakers in Rotary. These always prove to be interesting and informative events.
Leading a group of unpaid volunteers is likely to be very different from whatever you do in your professional life. Take advantage of every opportunity to learn the tools of this new "trade" and to gather ideas to refresh and GROW YOUR ROTARY CLUB to the next level. Our team is here to support your success!
